Course Details
We’re here to guide you through the driver education process. All students must obtain a TIP from the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles before enrolling. Our programs are designed for both teens and adults, combining classroom instruction with hands-on behind-the-wheel training to fully prepare students for the Louisiana Road Skills Test. 38-Hour Course (ages 14-17)
- Overview:
- Age Requirement: Classroom portion starts as early as 14 years 9 months; driving portion starts at 15 years
- TIP Card Required: Students must have a Temporary Instruction Permit to enroll.
- Classroom portion: 30 hours
- Driving portion: 8 hours
- Optional extra driving: $45/hour
- Road Skills Test: Available either at the DMV at no cost or with our instructors for comfort and convenience ($60)
- Class Schedule:

- Courses are typically offered over two consecutive weekends each month, with additional school-holiday sessions available that are completed in four consecutive days.
- Students coordinate driving sessions individually after classroom completion
- Driving is completed approximately 4-5 weeks after the last day of class.

- Student’s Birth Certificate (to verify legal name and date of birth)

- Parent/Guardian Signatures and Photo ID
- Custody Documentation – Louisiana requires the domiciliary parent to register the student; please bring court papers confirming custody
- Fees:
- Registration Fee – $45: Reserves your student’s spot in the course. Non-refundable. Required to hold your place before the classroom portion begins.
- Classroom Fee – $100: Covers the classroom instruction and materials. Due before the first day of class.
- Behind-the-Wheel Fee – $250: Covers the 8 hours of driving instruction. Due before scheduling driving sessions.
- Optional Extra Drive Time – $45/hour: For students who want additional practice beyond required instruction.
- Optional Road Skills Test – $60: Offered with our instructors for comfort and convenience, or free at the DMV.
- Payment Flexibility: After paying the $45 registration fee, families may choose to pay in two installments—first for the classroom portion, then for the driving portion—or pay the full $395 upfront, which includes the registration fee. No discount for paying in full; this is simply for convenience.
14-Hour Course (18 & older)
- Overview:
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older
- Classroom portion: 6 hours
- Driving portion: 8 hours
- Optional extra driving: $45/hour
- Road Skills Test: Available either at the DMV at no cost or with our instructors for comfort and convenience ($60)
