Behind the Wheel Instruction
State-required one-on-one driving experience for all students to reinforce classroom learning, build confidence, and prepare for the Louisiana Road Skills Test. Driving sessions are scheduled after completing the classroom portion and passing the written knowledge test.
**A TIP card (Temporary Instruction Permit) is mandatory for every student prior to driving.**
38-Hour Course
- 30 hours classroom + 8 hours behind-the-wheel.
- Driving sessions are typically four 2-hour lessons.
- Ages: Classroom can start at 14 years 9 months; driving begins at 15.
- Schedule Driving Session after you complete your classroom session.
14-Hour Course
- 6 hours classroom + 8 hours behind-the-wheel.
- Driving sessions are typically four 2-hour lessons.
- Schedule Driving Session after you complete your classroom session.
Scheduling
- Behind-the-wheel sessions are scheduled individually to fit student availability.
- Driving sessions can only be scheduled after successfully completing the classroom portion of the course.
Fees
- Behind-the-Wheel Fee: $250
- Optional Extra Drive Time: $45/hour
- Optional Road Skills Test: $60
Extra Drive Time
