How much does it cost to take
drivers education at First Class Driving and Safety?

What days are
classes held?
Classes are offered on two (2) consecutive weekends each month, and on four (4) consecutive days
during school holidays.
At what age can I start taking Driver's education?
A student can begin the classroom
portion of the course at age 14 years and 9 months but must be in high school. According to Louisiana Law established under R.S. 32:407, a minor 15 or 16 years of age may
be issued a Class E Learners Permit after successful completion of an approved driver education course approved by
the Department of Education or the Department of Public Safety consisting of a minimum of 30 hours classroom training
and 8 hours of on-the-road training. After completing the Learners Permit stage (minimum of 180 days), upon
reaching at least 16 years of age, and upon successfully passing the on-the-road driving test the minor may be issued a Class
E Intermediate License.
What
do I need to bring with me to Drivers Ed classes?
We will need a birth certificate to verify name
and date of birth, your child's TIP card and your ID also. Only domiciliary parents may register a student for Drivers
Education in Louisiana so please provide court documentation of custody status.
