Starting Early

Enrolling is easy and convenient. Reserve your student’s spot with a $45 non-refundable registration fee, then complete classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction for $350. Optional extra driving sessions are available at $45/hour, and the Road Skills Test can be scheduled with our instructors for $60, providing a familiar, supportive environment to ensure success.

Q: How much does it cost to take driver's education at First Class Driving & Safety?
A: $395
Q: What days are classes held?
A: Classes are offered on two (2) consecutive weekends each month and on four (4) consecutive days during school holidays.
Q: At what age can I start taking Driver's education?
A: A student can begin the classroom portion of the course at age 14 years and 9 months but must be in high school. According to Louisiana Law established under R.S. 32:407, a minor 15 or 16 years of age may be issued a Class E Learners Permit after successful completion of an approved driver education course approved by the Department of Education or the Department of Public Safety consisting of a minimum of 30 hours classroom training and 8 hours of on-the-road training. After completing the Learners Permit stage (minimum of 180 days), upon reaching at least 16 years of age, and upon successfully passing the on-the-road driving test, the minor may be issued a Class E Intermediate License.
Q: What do I need to bring with me to Drivers Ed classes?
A: We will need a birth certificate to verify name and date of birth, your child's TIP card and your ID also. Only domiciliary parents may register a student for driver’s education in Louisiana so please provide court documentation of custody status.
